Oildale Energy LLC cogeneration facility produces 40 MW of electricity for Pacific Gas & Electric. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; Oildale is a simple cycle LM-6000 gas turbine cogeneration plant powered by clean-burning natural gas. Useful thermal energy from the exhaust of the gas turbine is recovered and sent to an adjacent refinery. A compact, state-of-the-art facility, Oildale typically supplies all of the refinery’s thermal energy, approximately 800,000 MMBtu (equivalent to 6.7 million gallons of oil) per year.
